My Third & Latest Book: Dream Job
I’ve recently completed my third book – a memoir entitled Dream Job! This new book – an epic story of my eight years in Panama as a female executive working with an international team marketing a landmark project around the world and rubbing shoulders with Panama’s elite – will launch to the public in early 2018. Among all the books by JuliAnne Murphy currently on the market, this story will knock your socks off!
An early look at Dream Job follows:
“JuliAnne Murphy was no exception in positioning herself up against the corporate glass ceiling for women and pushing, very, very hard. She worked in an exclusively male world and was an expert at maneuvering the playing field at 5’4” in stiletto heels. At 37, she had the world by the tail: perfect life, perfect job and perfect husband. Or, so she thought. At the top of her game, she was hired to work in Panama during the epicenter of the controversy, that in 2016 became known as the Panama Papers. She took a job where she was the only woman as an outsider that was brought into working on the largest land deal in the world.
JuliAnne was not unfamiliar with firsts. She had built the largest football stadium in the US, the largest transportation build-out project in the US and the largest community re-development build-out in the US, as well. So, she and her husband moved lock stock and barrel to Panama. But adrift in a developing country, her first rude awakening was to find that the job was not what she had been promised.
Dream Job is about when dreams turn into a nightmare. This is a deeply personal story of crashing, burning and letting go. Dream Job is one woman’s tale of rising amidst the impossible, like a Phoenix. But more importantly, it is a book about love: self-love, love that is unconditional and in the end, JuliAnne Murphy not only discovers her real self but finds that the one person who had loved her unconditionally all along, was the most unexpected person of all.”

My Previous Books: The Gringo Guides to Panama
Most of us have been stirred by something that someone wrote at some point in our lives whether it was a news story, a film or a novel. Which means that a writer somewhere had to originate those words in order to help you envision the scene, the characters, the time frame, and the actions. When you describe writing like this, you quickly see that writing is an art.
But, let’s be honest. Art or not, at the beginning, I was terrified to publish my first two books under my real name at the time I wrote them.
TERRIFIED with a capital T.
Why? Well, for that story, refer to the About JuliAnne Murphy page here.
In 2016, that changed. I moved from Panama to Costa Rica and entered a different space, as a writer and as a human being. The time came for me to reclaim my two best-selling books as my own.
Not every author can say that their books did as well under a pseudonym as mine did. The fact is that The Gringo Guide to Panama: What to Know Before You Go reached #1 in the Books and Panama categories on Amazon within three weeks after it was released in late 2012. And, my second book, The Gringo Guide to Panama: More to Know Before You Go reached #2 in that same category when it was released in early 2014. They both repeated these rankings in early 2016, when I published updates for both books.
Like a proud mama bear, my heart pounds with gratitude and pride when I think back to those moments.
I am very grateful to you, my readers, who over the past four-plus years have bought these two books, and liked them, and sent me embraces in the form of emails and comments and reviews. Thank you! Your appreciation continues to warm my heart and lift my spirit.
